Merry Christmas

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, 'Fear not: for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.' And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
To you and yours I hope you had a very Merry Christmas. I know that I did. Completely overwhelmed (in a good way) by family. It was really neat to simply bask in the love and everything. It was a picture and a peace I didn't think I'd ever get to be a part of; more just enjoy from the edges. I'm truly blessed with the family I have.

I was also blessed enough to go to my first Midnight Mass. It was a very, very neat experience. Kids were fighting sleep and to a lesser extent my wife and I as well. That said it was perfect. The choir at St. Roberts was awesome and Father Healy was spot on as usual. It was the perfect blend of celebration, reverence, and solemn reflection.

I remember looking at my family and my wife, inhaling deeply and thinking simply -- home.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Feel free to comment with your Christmas experiences as well. Bless you all and have a great New Year.
